Winston Churchill his Speaches

 You see and hear a lot of why the middle East has so many problems, but do we realy understand the background to all of this. I am setting a goal to understand the region, and how and why its made up the way it is.

I sat and wondered what was the best way, to be honest, I have no idea, so I listened to a couple of podcast, not specific to the problem, more the subject came up in the discussion of the current problem, the podcast was "The Rest is Politics" hosted by   Alastair Campbell  Rory Stewart., both steeped in UK Politics, and who often disagree with each other, but often for good reason.

It was during one of the podcast, one of them said he was reading the Speeches of Winston Churchill, a book I have never read, in fact I have not even read a biography of the man, so I took a quick look at Ebay and found a cheap copy of the book, "The Speeches of Winston Churchill" and I am reading it through.

Was Winston the problem, I hope not, I have always admired the man mostly for his war time leadership, but was he part of the carve up of the middle East. 

Thats a question I am asking and need to understand, or was it a mistake from earlier times, after all, some of it goes back to the crusades, and in one comment I heard , further back in time.

I think this is going to be an interesting quest.

Alternative light Source and Shadows

 Alternative light Source and Shadows I love this little short video on YouTube, which introduces the concept of alternative light sources from other buildings,, the video makes the case of it being like a studio,  But I like the idea of both light and shadow playing with the building, the main and boldest, being the main building shadow, but, light reflected from other buildings windows, and the shadow they cast, gives an alternative lighter and less bold shadow, whilst still sharpening the profiles of walker passing by, and the interesting thing is,, it changes as the day progresses.
